Start Here: The Year 'Someday' Became Too Late
We all keep a little box labeled “Someday.” My mom never got to open hers — and that changed everything for me.
Hi! I’m Mikaële Dawn Tate… but you can call me Mikki.
I’m so glad you’ve stumbled in — thank you for being here! ✨
Memoir-ish is my unfolding, non-linear collection of true stories about…
🤍 The grief that sent me spinning.
🤍 The wanderlust that swept me into far-flung corners of the world.
🤍 The healing that pieced me back together.
🤍 The synchronicities that lit the path ahead.
🤍 The ongoing adventure of living in cahoots with spirit.
🤍 And the nature obsession that grounds and inspires it all. 🌿
🦋 Where It Began
I can still hear my mom’s boisterous laugh echo through the house — the kind that made her eyes water, her cheeks flush, and the rest of us crack up along with her. She was only 51 when she died of uterine cancer, just as she was about to go after her long-delayed dream of living an artist’s life in New York City. Over the year of her decline, those dreams slipped away, and it hit me harder than anything ever had — I was shattered. Watching her transition taught me two things: life is short, and “someday” doesn’t wait around.

🌍 So I Let Go and Followed the Nudge
I did what any slightly untethered, grief-stricken, adventure-prone human might do: I let go of almost everything I owned, hopped on a plane, and let the universe take the lead. The travels came in waves, like my grief — India, Morocco, Peru, New Zealand, and beyond. I met people who opened my eyes and had experiences that opened my heart. Everywhere I went, stories found me, and I tucked them away like souvenirs from the road.
I discovered that joy and grief often travel together in the same suitcase (and neither of them ever packs light). I bathed in the Ganges at sunrise, connected with souls who felt like old friends from another lifetime, stumbled into wild synchronicities, and learned to say yes to things that terrified and transformed me at the same time.

✨ Turning Healing into Offering
Along the way, I created offerings born from my own healing — juice cleanses that left people glowing, homes transformed into sacred spaces, indigenous style bodywork that invited the whole self to exhale… I used photography and writing to capture both the mind-blowing adventures and the small, everyday moments of magic worth sharing.
🌈 These Days…
These days, I’m rooted in Marin County with my hubby and family — living in a colorful swirl we like to call: love, juice, and music. It’s our blend of passions, offerings, and partnership — and somehow, it’s become the perfect timing and soil for Memoir-ish to bloom. Beyond that swirl, you'll probably find me outside gallivanting on trails near and far, or volunteering as a nature guide for school kids!

💜 The Heart of Memoir-ish
I didn’t plan to write my stories — but they keep rising up, asking to be shared. So here I am, following the inner guidance and learning as I go. It’s a little vulnerable for me, but becoming an unexpectedly cathartic part of the path so far.

🌙 More About Mikki
I’ve stepped into many roles — wellness coach, musician, traveler, mother, photographer… but at heart, I’ve always been a seeker of what makes life feel most alive.
I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and spent years city-hopping coast to coast and traveling the world… chasing sparks of meaning and collecting stories along the way.
My path has been anything but linear. Over the years I’ve created businesses centered on transformation — from Space Matters, which helped people clear and transform their homes, which then helped shift their lives, to Green Your Spirit, where I continue to guide holistic cleanses and inspire healthy lifestyle shifts.
Along the way, I’ve also been a graphic designer, bodyworker, singer in a rock ’n’ roll band, and even a background actor in TV and film (yes, you can spot me for a split second in Forrest Gump).
Through it all, healing, creativity, and travel have been the threads weaving it together — always circling back to the same question: how do we live more awake, more aligned, more alive?
Thanks for reading — I’m grateful you’re here.
